Question 2: What are the most persuasive arguments for, and against corporate social responsibility? What is the difference between a legitimate operation and a business that has lost its legitimacy in the eyes of the stakeholder? What actions can be taken to regain legitimacy?
Critics of corporate social responsibility argue that businesses run for the sole purpose of increasing the shareholder value. Other matters should come second after the business has successfully increased the shareholder value. Additionally corporate social responsibility is and expensive venture that requires a lot of resources and expertise to accomplish successfully.
