Stereolithography (SLA) refers to a 3D printing technology that converts liquid materials into solid parts, layer by layer fashion, through curing them individually using a light source in a process known as photopolymerization. The SLA method commonly gets employed in creating models, patterns, prototypes and production parts for different industries that include engineering and product design, manufacturing, jewelry, model making and so on. The applications of SLA method include developing prototypes for limited functional testing, visual prototypes for photo shoots and market testing, patterns for investment casting, low-volume production of complex geometries and alternatives for prototypes of sheet metal when coated with a metal plating process.
